Probatia and ADDPOL formalize an agreement to promote a certification program in digital evidence management according to ISO/IEC 27037
Probatia and ADDPOL formalize an agreement to launch a training itinerary with certification in management and chain of custody of digital evidence according to UNE-EN ISO/IEC 27037:2016
The program will integrate training and real practice on the Probatia platform, with an assessable final case and issuance of a certificate of achievement.
Probatia, a platform for the management, identification, analysis and presentation of digital evidence aimed at forensic investigation, and ADDPOL, a training center specialising in the police, judicial and expert fields, have formalised a collaboration agreement to incorporate into ADDPOL’s training offer a practical itinerary in management and chain of custody of digital evidence in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 27037:2016 standard.
A program geared towards professional competences (standard + practical)
Digital evidence (emails, chats, records, video, cloud, etc.) not only requires «having files», but also being able to demonstrate origin, integrity, authenticity and traceability in a defensible way in the face of challenges. The agreement between Probatia and ADDPOL is built precisely on that need: to combine a recognized methodological standard with an operational tool that allows the process to be applied in a repeatable and auditable way.
Structure: 3 parts + guided practices
The itinerary is divided into three blocks (problematic → standard → tool), with short exercises per lesson and a final case (Final Project) within Probatia:
- Digital evidence issues: typical risks, frequent mistakes, and how challenges are constructed.
- UNE-EN ISO/IEC 27037:2016: exhaustive overview of the standard, with a focus on decisions and minimum reproducible documentation.
- Use of Probatia (end-to-end flow): case creation, record of actions, devices/units, evidence and derivatives; traceability; report generation and operational criteria for certification/chain of custody.
The ultimate goal is for the student to be able to apply a defensible flow according to ISO 27037 (identification → collection → acquisition → preservation) and execute it in a complete file within Probatia, with documentary coherence and traceability.
Assessment and certification
The program includes an evaluation based on the Final Project, where the student must submit a report generated from the platform and demonstrate methodological coherence with ISO 27037 (justified decisions, minimum documentation and traceability). Once this milestone has been passed, ADDPOL will issue a certificate of use.
In addition, the agreement provides for the possibility of a «Train-the-Trainer» module (optional) to train ADDPOL teachers in the delivery and evaluation of the itinerary with standardized criteria.
A collaborative framework with a focus on quality, support and continuous improvement
The collaboration includes those responsible by entity, support channel and a quality approach based on standards and operational documentation, together with a privacy framework aligned with GDPR (student data under ADDPOL and Probatia as a data processor, with specific agreement).
With this agreement, Probatia and ADDPOL reinforce their commitment to applicable, verifiable and standards-aligned training, aimed at professionals and future professionals who need to manage digital evidence with solid and defensible criteria in the police, expert and judicial context.
